Year-Round Ethanol Sales Make It into US Farm Bill
Senate Agriculture Chair John Boozman (R-Ark.) announced on July 30 that the farm bill will include legislation addressing year-round sales of ethanol-blended gasoline.
The decision comes after lawmakers from both parties, particularly in Midwestern states, pushed to expand year-round sales of 15% corn-based ethanol.
'We've been talking to the members of our committee and we really feel like it would be most appropriate, especially with time running out since we're going to be out of session at the end of next week,' Boozman told Bloomberg Government regarding the decision to add the language to the farm bill.
