Yemen Blocks Eight Saudi Oil Tankers in Bab el-Mandeb Strait
Yemen's armed forces have blocked eight Saudi oil tankers from passing through the strategic Bab el-Mandeb Strait, as part of a retaliatory strategy dubbed 'siege for siege'.
The move is in response to Riyadh's blockade on Yemen, which has been in place since March 26, 2015, with military and logistical backing from Western countries.
According to Brigadier Yahya Saree, the armed forces' spokesman, the Saudi oil tankers were forced to change course towards the Strait of Good Hope after being blocked by Yemen's naval forces.
