The Armed Forces of Yemen have enforced a new naval blockade on Saudi oil tankers as part of their 'blockade for blockade' equation. According to Brigadier General Yahya Saree, eight Saudi oil vessels were forced to change course and head towards the Cape of Good Hope due to the tightening of the naval ban imposed by the Armed Forces.

The move is seen as a response to Saudi Arabia's own blockade on Yemen, which has been in place for some time. The Armed Forces have vowed to continue their blockade operations against Saudi oil ships and have praised the Yemeni people for their support, despite heavy rains.
