Yemen Hits Back at Saudi Arabia with Drone Strike on Oil Transmission Network
Yemen's armed forces have claimed responsibility for a drone strike on Saudi Arabia's oil transmission network. The attack targeted oil transmission lines running from eastern Saudi Arabia to Yanbu, said Yahya Saree, spokesperson for Yemen's Armed Forces.
The operation was carried out in response to repeated violations of Yemen's airspace by Saudi drones, according to Pars Today, citing IRIB News Agency. Several sensitive sites involved in the supply and transportation of crude oil from eastern Saudi Arabia were targeted.
Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that oil facilities in the Eastern Province had come under attack, claiming that the drones had been launched from Iraq. The country operates several major oil facilities in the Eastern Province, particularly around the city of Dammam.
