Yemen Targets Saudi Oil Facilities and Maritime Shipping Amid Blockade
The Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) have launched a series of attacks against Saudi Aramco oil facilities and maritime shipping in the Red Sea. Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesman for the YAF, stated that these strikes were carried out 'in response to the Saudi enemy violating the airspace of the provinces of Saada and Hajjah with its drones.'
The first attack targeted an Aramco refinery in Jizan, which resulted in a fire but no reported injuries. The YAF also targeted numerous oil tankers that violated Yemen's maritime ban, forcing them to change course.
In a separate statement, the YAF announced a large-scale and qualitative military operation targeting Saudi mobilizations and weapons depots in the Al-Mokha area. This operation resulted in widespread destruction of equipment and weapons, with dozens killed and wounded, including Saudis.
The Sanaa government has imposed a naval blockade on Riyadh following a broad popular mandate expressed by Yemenis during massive Friday demonstrations in the capital Sanaa and several provinces.
