Yemen Targets Saudi Oil Tanker with Ballistic Missile in Red Sea
Yemeni forces have launched a series of attacks against Saudi targets in retaliation for the Riyadh regime's ongoing blockade and aggression. On Monday, a Saudi oil tanker was targeted with a ballistic missile off the coast of Yanbu, causing a fire on its main deck.
The Azman oil tanker was sailing in the northern tip of the Red Sea when it was struck by the missile. The attack was described as 'precise and direct' by Yemeni military spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree, who said that several other vessels in the area were forced to leave due to the incident.
The strike was part of a maritime campaign aimed at enforcing a 'siege-for-siege equation', which seeks to retaliate against Saudi Arabia's blockade on Yemen. The country has been under a crippling blockade since March 2015, imposed by a coalition led by Saudi Arabia and supported by the US and other Western nations.
Yemeni forces also launched ballistic missiles and drones at a Saudi military convoy in the eastern Hadhramaut province, destroying more than ten trucks loaded with weapons and equipment. Separately, troops targeted Saudi forces in the al-Kanais area north of Ma'rib city, killing and wounding several military commanders and officers.
