Yemen's Ansarullah Movement Strikes Saudi Oil Tanker in Red Sea

The Ansarullah movement in Yemen claimed to have successfully struck a Saudi oil tanker called Wafaa in the northern Red Sea off the coast of Yanbu. According to Yahya Saree, the movement's military spokesperson, the attack was carried out with several ballistic missiles and hit its target accurately.

The strike is reportedly a response to the maritime blockade imposed on Saudi Arabia by the Ansarullah movement, which has been in place since July 22. The group has targeted eight Saudi oil tankers since then, including this latest attack on Wafaa.

Saree also stated that as part of their blockade strategy, 29 Saudi oil tankers had either been prevented from passing through the Red Sea and Arabian Sea or forced to turn back. Following these successes, Saudi Arabia has redirected its oil tankers to the northern Red Sea via the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
