Yemen's Houthis Claim Drone Downing, Target Oil Tankers Amid Escalating Tensions
The Houthi group in Yemen claimed on Sunday that they had downed a Saudi-operated drone over the northern province of Al-Jawf, and targeted three Saudi oil tankers over the past 48 hours.
Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sarea said that the group's forces used 'appropriate weaponry' to shoot down the drone while it was conducting hostile operations in Al-Jawf's airspace.
The Houthi group has imposed a maritime blockade on Saudi Arabia, citing the country's nearly 12-year-long land, sea, and air blockade of Yemen as well as recent Saudi airstrikes on Sanaa International Airport.
