Argentina's state-owned oil and gas company YPF and its partners Eni and XRG have submitted an application to join Argentina's large investment incentive regime (RIGI) for their $51 billion LNG export project. The massive project, which is being developed by the joint venture Argentina LNG, aims to support the development of a large-scale LNG export facility in Argentina.

The RIGI scheme is designed to attract significant investments into key sectors of the Argentine economy, including energy and infrastructure. By joining the regime, YPF and its partners hope to receive incentives that will help reduce the financial burden of developing the project.

YPF CEO Horacio Marin has stated that the company and its partners are still targeting a final investment decision on the 12 mtpa Argentina LNG project by the end of this year. If successful, the project is expected to bring significant economic benefits to Argentina, including jobs and revenue generation.
