Zelenskyy Seeks Maritime and Energy Truces in New York Talks with Trump

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is planning to meet US President Donald Trump in New York on September 21-23 to discuss potential truces in maritime and energy sectors. The meeting could focus on protecting Ukraine's grain exports and energy infrastructure, which have been affected by Russia's attacks.

Zelenskyy has stated that if a complete ceasefire is not possible, the parties should at least agree on security guarantees for grain exports and protection of energy infrastructure. He noted that many countries support this approach.

The Ukrainian president emphasized that implementing such agreements would require reciprocal steps from both sides. The meeting could also focus on practical mechanisms for protecting maritime exports and energy infrastructure.
