Zelenskyy Warns Global Food Security Threatened by Blockaded Black Sea

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has sounded the alarm about a looming threat to global food security due to the ongoing war in Ukraine and the blockade of the Black Sea. The effective closure of the Black Sea's food corridor is not only affecting Ukraine but also creating problems for other countries around the world, according to Zelenskyy.

He emphasized that prolonging the war poses risks to global food security and has compared the situation to the Strait of Hormuz blockade in terms of its impact on food supplies. Unlike the Ukrainian side which can export grain, other countries will be left with no food due to the complicated logistics and expensive exports, Zelenskyy warned.

Zelenskyy has been in talks with several countries including Egypt, India, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and the Emirates regarding the crisis. He assured that Ukrainians would not be left without food but acknowledged that the situation will be difficult for Ukraine due to increased grain prices and complicated logistics.
