Zelenskyy Warns Global Food Shortages Imminent Due to Russia's Blockade

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned that Russia's actions could lead to food shortages in several countries. Speaking at the Yalta European Strategy meeting on September 11, Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine itself will not run out of food despite the disruption of the Black Sea food corridor.

Zelenskyy stated that grain prices inside Ukraine may fall due to increased export costs and logistics disruptions. However, he warned that other countries could face more severe consequences as a result of Russia's blockade.

'Many nations will have nothing to eat, even if they have money,' Zelenskyy said. 'This will be like the Hormuz crisis but for agriculture.' He emphasized that Ukraine should not bear this challenge alone and that other countries must also work together to address food security issues.
