ZenaTech Sees Drone Expansion Boosted by Soaring Oil Prices and $500B Canadian Investment
ZenaTech's Drone as a Service (DaaS) business has entered a more favorable market, driven by higher oil prices and expected investment in Canada's energy sector.
According to ZenaTech, industry data shows that Q2 2026 WTI and Western Canadian Select crude prices were about 45% higher year-over-year, supporting increased drilling, infrastructure, reclamation, and environmental compliance work.
The company has completed its acquisition of Velocity Geomatics in July 2026, adding geomatics capabilities focused on environmental and regulatory compliance for oil and gas. Velocity operates four offices across Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan, with roughly 80% of current projects already using drone-based workflows.
