ZenaTech's DaaS Business Gains Momentum with Strengthening Oil Market
ZenaTech, Inc., a technology solution provider specializing in AI drone, DaaS, enterprise SaaS, and Quantum Computing solutions, is well-positioned to capitalize on the strengthening market for its energy sector field services operations in Western Canada.
The company's recent acquisition of Velocity Geomatics provides an established platform and customer base for its Drone as a Service (DaaS) business. This business model follows customer activity, with producers in Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan drilling more wells when they have increased cash flow.
According to Oil Sands Magazine, average WTI and Western Canadian Select crude prices during the second quarter of 2026 were approximately 45% higher than the same period a year earlier. This increase in oil prices has improved cash flow for producers, supporting stronger demand for ZenaTech's surveying and inspection services.
Looking ahead, Canada's oil and gas industry is expected to attract more than US$500 billion in investment over the next decade, driven by growing energy demand, expanded export capacity, and continued infrastructure and environmental investment. This long-term trend will provide a tailwind for ZenaTech's DaaS business in Canada as well as globally.
