Zijin Gold International Delivers Strong Interim Results on Higher Gold Prices and Operational Gains
Zijin Gold International reported strong interim results for the six months to June 30, driven by higher gold prices and operational improvements. The company's mined gold output rose 44% to approximately 27.3 tonnes, with revenue doubling to $3.987 billion and profit attributable to shareholders surging 179% to $1.451 billion.
Despite challenges from ore grade fluctuations, abnormal rainfall, and cost inflation, Zijin Gold International reduced unit costs excluding higher royalties through technical upgrades and better global supply chain coordination. The company's cash and cash equivalents climbed to $3.869 billion, with gearing falling to 36% and return on equity improving to 17.6%. The board declared the company's first interim dividend, signaling confidence in maintaining its full-year production guidance.
