$100 Trillion Valuation: Dan Held Makes the Case for SpaceX
Dan Held, an early Bitcoin investor and now SpaceX enthusiast, believes the company could reach a valuation of $100 trillion within two decades.
Held cites falling launch costs as the key driver behind his optimism. He points out that the cost of sending one kilogram of cargo to orbit could drop from around $20,000 during the Space Shuttle era to just $10 under Starship.
In an interview on The Rollup podcast, Held made the case for his bullish stance on SpaceX. He compared investing in the company to betting on Bitcoin's early days, when he first studied its fixed 21 million supply in 2012.
Held highlights several potential use cases for Starship technology, including satellite internet (Starlink), missile defense, and orbital data centers. He also mentions point-to-point travel, which could potentially reduce flight times between cities like New York and Tokyo to just 25 minutes.
