$100K USDT Stolen via Address Poisoning Attack Exploiting Transaction History
A $100,000 USDT loss has been reported in an address poisoning attack, which exploited the victim's reliance on transaction history to verify addresses.
The attacker had planted a fake wallet address in the victim's record 66 days prior to the transfer, making it look similar to a legitimate address used for a previous transaction.
Cyvers Alerts reported that their monitoring system detected the loss after the victim sent funds to an address controlled by the attacker. The stolen USDT was then converted into approximately 52.8 ETH.
