$1.1B in Crypto Hacked in Record-Breaking Six Months
North Korea-linked hackers have accounted for more than half of all stolen crypto funds in the first six months of this year, according to a report from Blockaid.
The report found that $1.1 billion was drained from various cryptocurrency exchanges and protocols through 212 security incidents during this period.
Four major incidents involving KelpDAO, Drift Protocol, Resolv, and CoW Swap made up nearly two-thirds of the total losses, with KelpDAO suffering the largest loss at $292 million.
The attacks were largely linked to TraderTraitor, a state-sponsored North Korean subset of the Lazarus Group, with Humanity Protocol's $32 million loss also connected to the same attacker cluster.
