$1.2 Billion in Debt: Kiyosaki's Unfazed Approach to Leverage
Robert Kiyosaki, author of 'Rich Dad Poor Dad', says he's sitting on $1.2 billion in debt tied to his real estate holdings. The 79-year-old investor remains unphased by this figure, stating that owing the bank such a large sum is 'their problem,' not his.
Kiyosaki claims the $1.2 billion figure finances roughly 1,500 apartment units and several hotels held by a group of real estate investors, including himself and his partners. His personal share of this debt is estimated to be significantly lower, between $30 million and $60 million.
Kiyosaki's comfort with massive leverage is reminiscent of his views on Bitcoin, which he has repeatedly called an investment worthy of being compared to gold and silver due to its potential as a hedge against inflation and dollar risk. He continues to buy Bitcoin through market swings, even as the price has moved from deep drawdowns back toward the $77,000 range this year.
