$1.3B Lost: Crypto Industry Hit by Wave of Hacker Activity
The first half of 2026 saw a significant surge in hacker activity within the crypto industry, resulting in estimated losses totaling $1.32 billion across 224 publicly disclosed hacking incidents.
According to Onchain Lens analysts, the majority of these losses came from a limited number of large-scale exploits targeting access control mechanisms, phishing attacks, and oracle manipulation.
The largest single loss was attributed to Kelp DAO, which suffered $292 million in damages, followed closely by Drift Protocol's $280 million loss.
