$146M in Long Positions Liquidated from Crypto Market in 24 Hours
The crypto derivatives market has handed leveraged bulls an expensive lesson, with $146 million in long positions forcibly closed across the market in a single 24-hour window.
This wave of liquidations hit hardest on perpetual futures contracts, which are used by traders to amplify their bets on rising prices. Binance, Bybit, and OKX bore the brunt of the liquidation activity on the centralized exchange side, while Hyperliquid, a decentralized perpetuals platform, also saw significant forced closures.
The $146 million figure likely understates the actual total, as aggregator platforms like CoinGlass produce conservative estimates due to incomplete data from some exchanges. Live trackers suggested that total liquidations, including both longs and shorts, may have ranged between $200 million and $300 million during the same period.
