$14M Stolen from WOO X User Accounts as Exchange Halts Withdrawals
Cryptocurrency exchange WOO X has suspended all withdrawal operations following a massive hack that stole $14 million from nine user accounts. According to blockchain security firm Cyvers, suspicious transactions were detected across Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB, and Arbitrum networks.
The breach affected company-controlled wallets only incidentally, as the hackers targeted user-controlled accounts. WOO X initially estimated losses at $12 million but later revised it upward to $14 million after completing its preliminary assessment.
The exchange is working with multiple security teams, including Seal911 and Hypernative, to investigate the breach and track the stolen funds. Despite the uncertainty surrounding the timeline for resuming withdrawals, WOO X emphasized that ensuring absolute security is its top priority.
