A massive transfer of 16,400 BTC has taken place on August 3rd, valued at approximately $1.04 billion, according to blockchain tracking platform Lookonchain.

The sending wallet had been inactive for seven months and was listed under the address 'bc1qptc9cz269u2mc5yguun5a5d6yd5c7f7ne4qj26'. The entire balance of the wallet was moved in a single transaction to a brand-new private wallet, sparking speculation about the intentions of its holder.

While the proportion of total supply is modest at 0.0781%, it represents nearly 7% of the daily spot volume traded on major international exchange platforms.

Cypher Citadel analysts classify this operation as 'from unknown address to unknown address', which is typically associated with an internal custodian reshuffle or an over-the-counter (OTC) trade rather than a direct sale prior to a sale on the spot market.
