$20M Crypto Payout Leaves Micro-Cap Firm with Barely Enough Cash
ZK International, a micro-cap firm, received $20.02 million in AWA tokens to settle a private-placement receivable on July 30.
The company had not monetized the tokens or determined their receipt-date fair value by March 31, when it reported only $82,696 in cash reserves out of total assets valued at $66.44 million.
Total assets were dominated by three illiquid balances: a $21.57 million prepayment for AI equipment, the $20.02 million crypto receivable, and a $21 million disposal receivable from the sale of eight subsidiaries.
The company reported a $17.02 million six-month net loss and $68.28 million accumulated deficit, leaving substantial doubt about its going concern and liquidity unless it can monetize assets or raise financing.
