21-Firm Stablecoin Alliance Aims for 2027 Adoption Push
Bank of America, Citi, and Goldman Sachs have joined forces with 18 other financial institutions to push for the adoption of stablecoins by 2027. The joint effort aims to create a standardized framework for the use of these digital currencies in global trade finance.
The banks are reportedly collaborating on the development of a set of guidelines that would ensure stablecoins meet regulatory requirements and can be used interchangeably across different financial systems.
While some experts have raised concerns about the potential risks associated with stablecoin adoption, the participating institutions believe the benefits outweigh these challenges.
