$2.1 Million Lost: Crypto Investor Falls Victim to Phishing Scam on ChatGPT
An anonymous Russian-speaking crypto investor lost $2.1 million after following a phishing link provided by ChatGPT, according to an investigation by blockchain researcher VAL.
The scammer created a fake exchange platform that looked legitimate, and the victim connected their wallet and signed a permission with 'Unlimited Approval', allowing the attacker to withdraw 1.9 million FXRP.
The stolen funds were then sent to Tornado Cash and split among several addresses, making it harder to track the movement of the money.
