$2.11M USDT Seizure and Ethereum Institutional's Big Funding Round Mark Network's 11th Year
The US government has filed a civil forfeiture lawsuit to seize approximately $2.118 million in USDT from an Ethereum wallet, allegedly tied to a Southeast Asian pig-butchering scam.
The funds were tracked through 76 intermediary addresses by investigators from the Secret Service, FBI, and Memphis Virtual Currency Task Force.
Ethereum Institutional has completed its first funding round with over 100 ecosystem supporters, including BitMine, SharpLink, and Ethereum co-founders Joe Lubin and Mihai Alisie.
The organization aims to accelerate institutional adoption by giving banks and asset managers a dedicated counterpart for evaluating the network.
