21Shares Polkadot ETF Suffers Staggering $4.52 Losses per Dollar Distributed
The 21Shares Polkadot ETF (TDOT) has recorded significant losses in its recent quarter, reflecting the poor performance of the underlying asset. The fund sold 98,505 DOT tokens to generate $107,510 in cash payments for shareholders, resulting in a loss of $485,553.
This translates to a staggering $4.52 in losses for every dollar distributed as staking rewards, far exceeding the losses incurred by competing funds. Among the four crypto staking funds that reported realized losses in the second quarter, TDOT's $4.52 stands out sharply from the rest of the sector.
The Polkadot token (DOT) has continued to decline in value, with a 34% drop in the second quarter and a 76% decrease over the twelve months ending June 30, 2026. This sharp decline is reflected in the fund's quarterly performance, where total realized losses reached $2.5 million.
