21Shares TETH Shifts to FTSE Ethereum Index for Price Benchmarking
21Shares Ethereum Staking ETF (TETH) has announced that it will be shifting to a new ether pricing benchmark, effective August 27, 2026. The existing CME CF Ether-Dollar Reference Rate - New York Variant will no longer be used. Instead, the fund will reference the FTSE Ethereum Index. This change comes after 21Shares US LLC (the Sponsor) entered into a licensing agreement with FTSE International Limited on August 20, 2026.
The Benchmark Licensing Agreement grants 21Shares and its affiliates a non-exclusive license to access and use the FTSE Ethereum Index for one year, with automatic renewal unless terminated. The agreement follows the termination of the Sponsor's previous licensing agreement with CF Benchmarks Ltd, which was set to expire on August 31, 2026.
The name change from '21Shares Ethereum ETF' to '21Shares Ethereum Staking ETF' has also been made official, as reflected in a Certificate of Amendment filed on August 25, 2026. Additionally, the Trust Agreement was amended to reflect changes in the timing of the sponsor fee payment, which will now be made at least quarterly in arrears.
