$22 Billion Stablecoin Network TRON Ditches Gas Fees with MoonPay Integration
TRON's position as one of the world's largest stablecoin networks has been solidified, with over $22 billion in average daily stablecoin transfer volume processed on its blockchain. To further simplify transactions for users, MoonPay has integrated its Trade infrastructure with TRON, allowing stablecoin transfers to happen without requiring a separate balance of $TRX for gas fees.
Instead of needing to purchase and maintain $TRX balances, gas fees are now abstracted into the transaction itself. This means that users can complete transactions using only the assets they already hold in their wallet.
The integration is significant, as it removes one of blockchain's biggest usability problems: gas fees. For years, users have had to hold various tokens, such as ETH or SOL, simply to move $USDT. MoonPay's feature eliminates this dependency on TRON and makes stablecoin transactions feel more like everyday payments.
Justin Sun, Founder of TRON, said the integration advances the network's vision of empowering users for everyday payments by simplifying stablecoin transactions. Ivan Soto-Wright, CEO of MoonPay, noted that removing the need to hold $TRX eliminates unnecessary friction for users and makes stablecoins feel more like payment infrastructure.
