A $225.3 million USDT seizure by the U.S. government is not an instant refund for victims of crypto investment fraud.

The assets are now under federal control, but a civil forfeiture case must determine whether they can be permanently taken due to their connection to criminal activity.

Prosecutors said the assets were connected to more than 430 suspected victims and involved money laundering.

A separate group representing alleged scam victims entered the case, while an innocent owner challenged forfeiture.
