$22M Raised by Former Coinbase Employees for Compliance Automation Startup Dili
A trio of former Coinbase employees has raised $22 million to tackle the complex issue of compliance in infrastructure projects. Dili, an AI-driven compliance automation platform, aims to automate prevailing wage and apprenticeship (PWA) compliance for engineering, procurement, and construction firms working on federally incentivized projects.
The company's founders, Stephanie Song, Brian Fernandez, and Anand Chaturvedi, initially launched Dili as an AI-powered due diligence tool for private equity through Y Combinator's S23 batch. However, they soon discovered a bigger opportunity in the infrastructure boom sparked by the Inflation Reduction Act.
The act created massive tax incentives for clean energy and infrastructure projects, including a 30% Investment Tax Credit. To access these credits, companies must adhere to strict federal wage and apprenticeship standards. Dili's AI automates payroll validation and audit trails, ensuring compliance and protecting billions of dollars in funding and tax credits.
The platform has already protected over $1 billion in funding and tax credits across more than 700 projects, making a strong case for its traction numbers. With the investment from Khosla Ventures and other participants, Dili is poised to further expand its reach and impact in the compliance landscape.
