$2.3 Billion Crypto Empire Sparks Outrage Among Republican Critics
Joe Scarborough, host of MSNBC's Morning Joe, criticized Republican lawmakers for their silence on the Trump family's massive crypto empire. Since Donald Trump's second term in office, his family has profited at least $2.3 billion from cryptocurrency investments.
The investment, which was made with 'little to no risk', has been a source of controversy as other investors have lost billions since April. Scarborough accused Republican lawmakers of hypocrisy for attacking the Biden family's business dealings while turning a blind eye to the Trumps' own dealings.
Scarborough noted that the massive influx of money from cryptocurrency investments is 'impacting the decisions that Donald Trump was making in the White House.' He added, 'These Republicans are saying absolutely nothing. I think it may be corruption and that these Republicans are sitting by and allowing this to be the most corrupt administration in the history of America.'
When questioned about his own finances, Trump attributed his profits to the rising stock market, stating, 'You know why I'm profiting? Because the stock market's going up. Everybody's profiting.'
