A Singaporean man has pleaded guilty to leading an international group that stole and laundered over $245 million in cryptocurrency.

The group, which was involved in a RICO conspiracy, targeted crypto holders and scammed them using social engineering tactics.

They would gain the trust of their victims by impersonating representatives from companies like Google and Gemini, and then trick them into sharing their private details.

In one case, they drained over 4,100 Bitcoin from a victim's wallet, worth around $245 million at the time.
