$24M in Hype: 12 Wallets Accumulate Tokens as a16z Link Remains Unclear

A cluster of 12 wallets accumulated $24 million in HYPE tokens over the past 24 hours, from August 26 to August 27, 2026. The group, identified by on-chain analyst EmberCN, deposited 36 million USDC into Hyperliquid at an estimated average price of $81.50 per token.

The wallets fragmented their purchases across multiple wallets, which might have minimized market effects and made them less visible initially. However, the exact method used is still unknown.

According to EmberCN's calculations, the cluster's accumulated and staked balance reached 4.679 million HYPE tokens, valued at approximately $381 million using the market price applied at the time of analysis.
