$2B Valuation Boost for TRM Labs Amid AI Crime Platform Launch
TRM Labs has reached a valuation of $2 billion after securing additional funding from existing investors. This new valuation is double that of its previous valuation of roughly $1 billion, which was reported six months prior.
According to CEO Esteban Castano, the undisclosed follow-on investment was 'modest' but resulted in the company's valuation increasing to $2 billion. This figure reflects the terms accepted by participants in the private transaction and does not include new ownership details or financial statements.
TRM plans to expand its services beyond cryptocurrency tracing with the launch of an AI-assisted investigations platform, which will help investigators examine deepfake fraud, sextortion, and child sexual abuse cases. The company expects to announce the product publicly in November and sees AI as a 'second growth engine' for its business.
The platform will combine blockchain records with corporate information, cyber-threat intelligence, dark-web material, and other data. TRM estimates that criminal adoption of AI increased 40% during 2026, based on its own index.
