$30K Crypto Scam Survivor Warns Others as NH Safeguards Kick In

Nashua resident Ken Heideman was scammed out of $30,000 when he used a cryptocurrency kiosk at a convenience store four years ago.

The scammer convinced him to withdraw cash and use the ATM by claiming his bank information was at risk, and that telling anyone what was happening could put his savings in greater danger.

Heideman described being under an 'uninterrupted, unbroken sort of spell' during the experience.

Beginning December 16th, a new state law will implement several barriers to prevent such scams, including capping cryptocurrency kiosk transactions at $2,000 per customer per day and requiring a 48-hour hold on first transactions.
