$320 Million Bitcoin Heist Rocks Liquid Network
A significant cyberattack has struck Liquid Network, leaving it reeling after $320 million in Bitcoin was stolen. The incident occurred on September 7, 2026, at approximately 2:42 AM UTC.
Liquid Network's blockchain is used by several crypto exchanges and facilitates faster transactions. Unfortunately, roughly 4,000 out of the 4,200 Bitcoin held in its Liquid Federation wallet were compromised.
The perpetrators, who claim to be 'purported white-hat hackers,' allegedly found vulnerabilities in the system and moved funds with the intention of returning them, often for a fee.
