$320M BTC Withdrawal Leaves Trail of Baffling Messages

A significant amount of $319 million in Bitcoin (BTC) was withdrawn from Blockstream's Liquid network on Sunday, with minimal fees of just 21 cents. The transaction also included a message left by the attackers, claiming they were 'good guys' and inviting others to contact them on-chain.

The funds were transferred to an address that had never been used before, representing around 95% of the network's holdings. A second transfer occurred four hours later, with a message stating 'we are whitehats. contact us on chain.'

Despite concerns about insolvency, Blockstream notes that the remaining coins are still fully covered, down to the fourth decimal place.
