$3.5B Floods into US Bitcoin ETFs as BTC Tests Resistance Zone
US Bitcoin ETFs attracted over $3.5 billion in August, their strongest monthly inflow since July 2025. This surge came as Bitcoin gained 25% during the same period, marking its best monthly performance since November 2024.
BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) captured about 88% of total ETF inflows, making it the dominant fund during the month. The strong demand for regulated Bitcoin exposure was driven in part by expanded US Treasury buybacks and a weaker dollar, which supported risk assets like Bitcoin.
Despite rising to levels above $80,000, Bitcoin struggled to hold its ground and face resistance near this range. Analysts estimate that spot Bitcoin ETF investors bought the token at an average price between $80,000 and $83,000, making this key area for traders watching whether Bitcoin can regain and hold higher levels.
Institutional interest in regulated Bitcoin exposure remained strong, while investors continued to watch US crypto regulation and fiscal policy. According to StoneX analyst Fiona Cincotta, concerns about US fiscal health helped increase demand for alternative assets, including Bitcoin and precious metals.
