40 Crypto Firms Seek Early Access to Advanced AI Tools for Enhanced Cybersecurity
More than forty companies specializing in Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies have signed an open letter to leading artificial intelligence (AI) labs, requesting early access to advanced AI models. These firms aim to secure the most powerful versions of these tools before they are publicly deployed.
The goal is to enable independent security researchers to use these AI models to detect and neutralize cyber threats targeting the crypto ecosystem.
Cyberattacks against crypto platforms have resulted in significant losses, with $2.2 billion in losses from hacks and exploits reported in 2024 alone, according to data from CertiK.
The companies believe that the latest generation of AI tools represents an unprecedented opportunity to strengthen protocol defenses, but these models are not yet publicly available.
