$40 Trillion Debt Threshold Crossed: Kiyosaki Sounds Alarm on Cash Dependence
Robert Kiyosaki is sounding another alarm about US national debt, which has crossed $40 trillion for the first time. He's been warning his followers that relying too heavily on cash could be a losing strategy. Treasury data shows total public debt outstanding reached $40.047 trillion on August 18, up from $39.987 trillion the day before.
Kiyosaki argues that savers of cash are the biggest losers. He's criticizing policymakers for what he sees as another form of quantitative easing, but Treasury says its move is intended to improve liquidity in less-traded government bond markets.
The Congressional Budget Office expects net federal interest costs to exceed $1 trillion in fiscal 2026 and climb to $2.1 trillion by 2036. Kiyosaki advises investors to favor scarce or income-producing assets, including gold, silver, Bitcoin, and selected real estate.
