$40T National Debt Fuels Growing Support for Bitcoin as a Store of Value

The U.S. national debt has surpassed $40 trillion for the first time in history, prompting concerns about fiscal sustainability and its potential impact on investments like Bitcoin.

BlackRock's global head of digital assets, Robbie Mitchnick, believes that rising U.S. debt and persistent deficits are boosting support for Bitcoin as a long-term investment opportunity.

Mitchnick points out that investors may be seeking scarce assets with store-of-value properties, like Bitcoin and gold, in response to growing concerns about the purchasing power of fiat currencies.

The Treasury Department reported that U.S. gross federal debt reached approximately $40.05 trillion on August 18, a figure that has more than doubled since 2017.
