$441M Debt Financing Boosts Global AI's Ambitious Data Center Expansion Plans
Global AI has secured $441 million in debt financing from JPMorgan Chase to accelerate its expansion of AI data centers across the US. This funding is designed to support the company's goal of becoming a 'Sovereign AI Hyperscaler,' with a focus on secure, air-gapped GPU data centers built using NVIDIA technology.
The company recently acquired 438 acres near Windsor, Colorado, for $15.6 million as part of its US expansion strategy. Global AI has also partnered with HUMAIN, an entity connected to Saudi Arabia, and has received funding from NVIDIA in the past due to its strategic partnership with the data center equipment provider.
JPMorgan's research projects that global spending on AI and data center infrastructure will exceed $5 trillion by 2030, with annual funding requirements reaching approximately $700 billion by 2026. The competitive landscape for AI data center financing is becoming increasingly crowded, with major hyperscalers like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google, as well as independent operators like CoreWeave and Crusoe Energy.
