$457B in Crypto Activity Exposed by Chainalysis Operation
A Chainalysis-led operation has identified over $457 billion in cryptocurrency activity that could be subject to taxes, as only about 14% of crypto transactions are covered by anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) regulations.
This number is based on an examination of 29,120 addresses and identifiers tied to more than 100 exploitation networks, Chainalysis reported. The operation, called Operation Lighthouse, flagged over 7,700 suspect crypto accounts with support from Binance and Coinbase.
