$500M Valuation Beckons for Mecka AI as Funding Round Takes Shape
Mecka AI is reportedly closing in on a $500 million valuation as it prepares for another funding round, just months after completing its Series A. The startup's flagship product, Egoverse, collects first-person human activity data using custom sensors and iPhones to record natural movement rather than stilted choreographed motions.
Robotics labs, frontier model teams, and enterprise customers have signed on to use Egoverse as a training resource for robotic policies. The company projects an annual recurring revenue run rate of $100 million, although the specific contracts underlying that figure remain undisclosed.
Mecka's co-founders, Josh Gao, Mogen Cheng, Jason Chong, and Duy Nguyen, have guided the startup to significant growth since its founding two years ago. With a team of 40-60 people, mostly based in Toronto, Mecka has attracted notable investors like Framework Ventures, Menlo Ventures, and SV Angel.
