$50M AAVE Trade Goes Horribly Wrong Despite Clear Warnings

A cryptocurrency trader made a massive mistake when they attempted to purchase AAVE tokens using $50 million in USDT. The transaction, executed through the Aave interface and routed via CoW DAO, triggered warnings due to its unusually large size.

Despite these warnings, the trader confirmed the transaction on their mobile device, accepting the high slippage conditions. This resulted in a massive loss, with only 324 AAVE tokens returned instead of the expected $50 million worth.

Aave founder Stani Kulechov noted that the trading interface displayed clear alerts about the extreme price impact and required the user to explicitly acknowledge the risk before proceeding.

Kulechov also emphasized that the transaction could not have been completed without the trader confirming the risk through the interface warning.
