$52 Million in Laundered Crypto Assets Frozen by Scam Center Strike Force

Share

The Scam Center Strike Force had a major success on September 9, 2026, when it restrained $52 million in laundered cryptocurrency assets. The funds were tied to Xinbi Guarantee, a Chinese-language marketplace on Telegram that facilitated various types of fraud.

The Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control sanctioned Xinbi Guarantee and two affiliated entities, Anwen and SafeW Technology, as significant transnational criminal organizations.

Tether, the issuer of the widely used stablecoin, cooperated with investigators to identify and lock down relevant wallets. This operation is a notable example of law enforcement's growing technical capacity in tracking and freezing illicit funds.
