$52.5M Funding Boost for World ID's Global Expansion Amid AI-Driven Identity Risks
World Foundation has secured $52.5 million in funding through a strategic sale of its native WLD tokens, led by venture capital firm Pantera Capital.
The funding round was structured around a one-year token lockup and included participation from Bain Capital Crypto, Eightco Holdings, Selini Capital, and Susquehanna Crypto.
This influx of capital will support the global deployment of World ID technology across commercial enterprises, consumer platforms, and autonomous artificial intelligence systems.
The need for digital identity verification has become increasingly pressing due to rapid advancements in AI agents and the resulting potential for online fraud, deepfakes, automated bot traffic, and synthetic media.
World ID provides a privacy-preserving mechanism that confirms a user is a unique human without collecting or exposing personal identifying information, using zero-knowledge cryptographic proofs and multi-party computation.
