5,411 Pocket Bitcoin Customers Exposed in August Breach
Pocket Bitcoin has revealed that its August security incident exposed additional personal and financial information involving 5,411 customers.
The company confirmed that two data groups were affected: one containing bank transaction lists with customer names, addresses, transfer amounts, dates, and sometimes IBAN account numbers (5,120 customers); the other covering correspondence sent to partner banks, which included potentially sensitive records such as identity documents, Bitcoin addresses, and source-of-funds information (291 customers).
Pocket Bitcoin stated that its core databases, customer data, private keys, and customer Bitcoin remained unaffected by the breach.
